Nothing New To Say
I wrote a few ‘How To’ blogs, but piles of other’s words cover the internet. I tried You Tube videos, but endless looping streams of sleek movies show how to play with paint far better than I can possibly create. What in the world do I have to say that has not been said before about painting a picture?
Why this?
Well, while walking the dogs while the northeast wind blew us along and a slice of light hinted the day to come, an epiphany sparkled. I had a project, a way to share what I have learned on my unconventional journey that had a purpose beyond me just chatting away.
Walk, Play, Investigate, Question and Most Importantly, Wonder With Me
I would like, if you are so inclined, for you to join me on the journey I experienced as I became a painter. What dawned on me that morning’s dawn was that the path of my painting epiphanies when linked together, build a structure for learning to paint. I want to share this with you so that if you, like me, were not fortunate enough to matriculate in a painting program, might find a process to pursue your visual expressions.
From Observation
to Pencil
to Paper
to Paint All Over
Each post will explore the epiphany that drove my work forward, the exercises that helped me explore it and the manifestations of it when painting. There will be some reminiscing, some pictures, some suggestions and lots of ‘what ifs’.
Neat idea! And I love those water/wave paintings of yours!
